Thanks for this. It worked on an old Novatech laptop that was running an i5-7200u. The heatsink and cooling fan are rubbish inside, so the fan would go crazy to cool down the CPU, even after cleaning out the fan and applying new thermal paste. Fan runs a lot quieter now, it's not turbo boosting to 3.1Ghz. Haven't seen any real drop in performance either.
